This was my first time bringing my truck in for service. It took 45 minutes to get signed in and when asked if I had an appointment they seemed irritated that I did not even though it was my assumption walk ins are welcome. I did not get notification my truck was ready, I called at 3:30 to see if it would be ready before they closed and they said it was ready. When I picked it up they said there was a problem in their computer about how I wanted to receive notifications, that they text me at 10:50 it was ready but I never got a text. Strange I now am receiving texts when asked about my experience.

Oh, Chase was wonderful! Very professional and very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of servicing my car. He kept me informed of the progress in my vehicle. He asked me if I would approve of any care that my car need it while it was being serviced.

When I arrived, I told him the tire light has been coming on due to the spare. It was showing 30, but drops to 27-28 when it gets cold. Asked him to make sure it was aired up. When I left and got a couple miles down the road far enough for it to read the pressure, the main 4 tires were all 34-35. Spare was still 30. Had to go back and get it aired up. Also, I was told my battery needed replacing. Even sent a picture of the gauge on the battery showing it needed replacing. I went to Auto Zone. They tested the battery with and without load. AMPs looked great. Also tested the alternator and said it looked great. It may die tomorrow, and if it does it will restore some of my trust, but right now it sure does make me doubt the other things they said I need to do in the future. Finally, I am frustrated that with both my last 4Runner (2018) and this one (2021), when you change the tires, they scrub when you back up. Same tire size. The tread is just so low on the factory tires that when you put good tires on the vehicle, the tread rubs the wheel well and they say there is nothing they can do. I know this is not the dealerships fault, but these 4Runners haven’t been redesigned in years (I know it’s coming in 2025), but they should have changed the design of the wheel well by now and resolved this issue.

I thought Chase Purdy was professional and efficient which I appreciate.
My service was quickly completed and I was on my way. After I left, while I was on the interstate, my hood pooped up, caution lights automatically came on and I had to pull over. All was well BUT this absolutely could have caused an accident. Additionally, My husband had a more serious situation happen after having a tire rotation there several months ago. He reported this to the manager…His truck tire was not properly tightened and thankfully he was stopped on the interstate by a concerned citizen probably avoiding a serious accident. He also was just leaving the service. Safety absolutely must be a priority at Tuscaloosa Toyota. Please don’t wait until an accident happens to get serious about these safety issues. People put their trust in you and the people you hire.
Chad was amazing as always!! He takes great care of me every time. Service was timely and accommodations were top tier.
