Designing and mass-producing fuel cell hydrogen cars is one thing, but creating enough infrastructure to support them is a whole different proposition. It's a dilemma very similar to that faced by battery-electric vehicles, but electric charging stations are less expensive and easier to install than hydrogen stations. In addition, they can rely 100% on the existing electrical grid infrastructure for their electricity, which gives them a definite advantage over hydrogen.
