The overall experience was not great. The service representative probably has good intentions, but did not seem to have been appropriately trained on how to handle unclear situations. I had an issue with my rear view camera and the response was basically “oh we’ll have to see if we can fix it.” If I’m bringing my Kia into a Kia dealership, the assumption is that problems can be fixed, prices might vary, but there should always be options for a path forward. Also, it was deemed as vandalism, which to me should trigger the representative to suggest getting Insurance involved before pushing a very high price tag for something that it’s murky if it was vandalism or defect. All in all, a very confusing and very disheartening situation that left me feeling so anxious until my insurance company got involved and resolved the situation.
