Fastest I've ever had truck repaired at city Chevrolet. Everything I need to do my job is carried in my work truck so not having it is tuff. Quick turn around time for repairs and maintenance is important.

I scheduled an appointment because of the noises I was hearing from my car. The mechanic attempted to duplicate the noises I was hearing, but they couldn't. They checked the engine and made some fan adjustments and the end-result was that my engine is in great condition. There were no issues found; no concerns were noted. Of course, since they couldn't duplicate the noise, they couldn't identify the cause of the noise to "fix" the issues, so it's expected that the noise will be heard again and the experiences I was having, that brought me to get my car checked, will continue. Sure enough, on my way home from the service, the noises were heard and the shifting problem was experienced. I believe in data, so when the mechanic did their checks, ran the tests and checked the engine, there were no issues found. I knew that code flags weren't going to be found as I had OnStar run an on-demand diagnostic of my car while I drove it; that resulted in no issues found. I was hoping that the cause of the noise would be visible so that the mechanic can asses and make recommendations, but there were no visible indications of an issue. The service advisor advised me based on the mechanic's findings and told me the adjustments that were made for other concerns found. Based on their assessments, I believe they did their job satisfactorily. At the end of the day, it's my understanding that, OnStar's diagnostic checks are against vital systems, which I understand as systems that run based on safety and car integrity. When the mechanic found no issues with the engine, I believe I've done the due diligence of getting my car checked. I was told that if the noise is heard again or worsens, to return and the mechanic is willing to take a test drive with me to attempt duplication of the noises and experiences. I know these issues still exist, so I'll be returning to the dealership at my next scheduled maintenance and addressing the issue. Unless the issue worsens, I believe that this assessment can wait until my scheduled maintenance based on the results of OnStar's diagnostic test and the mechanic/service advisors' assessments.
