I dropped my car off on Thursday morning. The advisor on the phone said a drop off recall and a new battery should take about 5 hours. I said I would pick it up the next day(Friday) because I wanted to have them drive the car to hear the noise coming from the left front suspension. They said that would work. I get a text 11:04 am Friday morning saying they are taking good care of the car and would text me when it was ready to come home. I called close to 5pm to find out what was happening with the car. The advisor said that they were having problems with the recall and we’re trying to get advice from Kia Corp. but they were closed until Monday. I said fine I’ll need a loner car. I was told they didn’t have any on hand but they said they do go through Hertz or Enterprise. I said great, hook me up. He replied I’m sorry but I need authorization from Corporate. I replied, and they aren’t open till Monday right. He said yes sorry. My family was one car short for the weekend with no compensation. The part that disturbs me most is there was no communication between the service department and myself from 11:04am and close of business. The right thing to do would have been to contact me and explain they were having difficulty and I should come and arrange for rental while Corporate was still open. We decided to have more work on the Soul but are unsure if we’ll take it to Valley-Hi Kia.

First off it was a good thing for you all at KIA that you dealt with my wife and not me. The service department was very neglectful on communicating what was going on with her car with my wife. They had her car for 2 weeks and did not keep her informed on what was happening or what it would cost to fix the car. She had to call them and most of the time they couldn't tell her anything. During all that time she had a rental car. When they finally got everything figured out and her car ready she was told KIA would take care of the car rental. She only had to cover the insurance she took out on the rental. Which was great but as it turned out the car rental was incorporated into the final bill which means my wife paid for the rental herself since it was added to her bill. So your service department needs a lesson on follow through and communication 101.
