I had a disappointed experience with my recent service at norm reeves honda in 7/9/2021. My 2018 Civic Type R has always been serviced in west covina. I had an ongoing recall for my AC unit that had been serviced through warranty the past 3 years. Even though I had the same AC issue and has been documented in norm reeves. The company decided to ask Honda for Reimbursement for my AC issue. That took a 6 business days to get approval. Once it was approved I had to pay $150 as a deductible although it was honored as a warranty under honda. I then dropped off my car for 2 business days so they can fix my AC. On the day of pick up I was told that they were unable to get my dealer alarm activated and told me to go to the dealer I purchased it from to get it activated. The alarm deactivation was due to the AC issue resolution under warranty. As I was going inside my car to put my baby in the rear car seat I noticed the center console panel was on the floor and was not clipped back in. I then walked to my driver sear and found a green microchip size of a dime with 4 sharp spikes pointed upward on my seat. I also found witness by the service manager debris and black zip ties on the side of my seat. I spoke to manager octavio and made him aware of the poor workmanship on my car. I have suffered driving my car for 1 week with no AC on 100 degree weather awaiting for approval for honda to fix AC issue. I then lose my car for 2 days and had to pay for public transportation to go to work. And when time to pick up my car the dealer alarm is disarm and request me to drive 40 miles away off my own time to get it activated, center console panel is not put back to place, debris inside my car, a sharp object pointing upward on my driver seat and still had to pay a deductible even though it should be covered by warranty. I thought by being able to pay and afford a premium car such as a civic type r under a very reputable company the least they can do is double check there work before turning in the keys to the owner. My car was left for 48 hours and had plenty of workers oversea the cars condition up until delivery of the key. It went through the mechanic, alarm guy, and multiple drivers before I received the car. Only when my complaint occured And mistakes were made, come to find out through service manager that They have the option to take care of the alarm without me going through first dealer. Why was that not given an option in the first place? Granted it will take 2 weeks to get which means I have one less protection from my car during that time. I hope Honda West Covina learns from this event and make sure all work must be check for all cars. I am very thankful for sam tung my advisor for keeping me updated as much as he can. If it weren’t for Bryan’s professionalism, my first experience would have been horrible. The wait was absurd considering I had made an appointment. I was literally waiting over 45 minutes but as soon as Mr. Ortiz took my keys, he was able to turn my experience around. He was efficient, knowledgable and didn’t try to oversell any services.
