My CRV is great. It has helped me do so many things in the past 20 years. It is easy to drive and safe. The quality is very good.

I have a very low bar when it comes to dealerships and this was hands down the worst dealer experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been a loyal Honda owner and fan for over 25yrs and it pains me to see that my local dealer is so terrible.
I came in for a simple warranty issue (seat belt not working). Drop off in the morning was a zoo. Lots of cars but also tons of staff. But, unfortunately it was very disorganized and many of the staff were clearly not doing anything. Attitude of the porters was terrible. Seemed like they all were pissed to be at work. Zero customer service. The porter tossed some paper ticket on my windshield, tossed a magnetic number on my roof and walked away. No “welcome to Norm Reeves”, no “good morning” - nothing. Just bad attitude. Plus, I can’t believe you put magnet numbers on the paint! Maybe the avg CRV owner doesn’t care but if I brought in my NSX this would have been a big problem. Regardless, it’s disrespectful, inconsiderate and lazy. Just put it on the windshield- problem solved.
Check in with the service advisor was ok and was an improvement from dealing with the porters.
Midday I was told they couldn’t continue with the diagnostics because someone had already worked on the seatbelt and it was obvious to them. Well, yeah, of course it’d been worked on before. This is the second time the car has been to the dealer for this same issue. I stated this when I made my appt and when I checked in with the service advisor. I was very upfront about us having the work done a couple years back at Long Beach Honda but that they did not fix the problem and I didn’t trust them anymore. That’s why I came to NR in the first place was because I thought I would get a positive experience and thought I could trust this dealer.
When I picked up, I spoke with the service manager, Mike, and he didn’t seem to care at all. The prevailing attitude was that they couldn’t prove what work was done or who did it. They seemed to infer that had I brought a service receipt from LB Honda that it would have changed things. This didn’t seem genuine and I don’t believe it, but who knows. Either way no one told me I needed proof of service from the other dealer when I made my appt or when I dropped off. Had that been done I could have provided the receipt from the prior service.
What if we moved out of state or hours away? What if we couldn’t go back to the same dealer? Does this mean Honda won’t warranty their safety devices? Of course not. Honda is legally obliged to take care of an issue like a faulty seatbelt. Your dealer just didn’t want to take the time to be helpful.
Now, all that was terrible. But I can’t even say it’s a fluke and I can’t even say other dealers are the same. We came to NR Honda a month ago shopping for a new CRV and no one gave us the time of day. We got shuffled between a few salesmen and one finally, showed us a CRV (although not the one we wanted despite it being in stock). We promptly went across the street and were treated completely differently by one of your competitors. They treated us how I expect to be treated - with respect, care and kindness. They actually seemed to be happy we were shopping with them. Whereas at NR I get the feeling no one cares. So much for the “happy Honda people”.
We bought a car from your competitor and, although I didn’t think it was possible, this experience was painless. We also had to have the car in for service already for something super minor. Again, the difference between dealers was massive. We were greeted with smiles, staff were happy, attentive, respectful and caring.
It’s pretty clear NR has a big culture problem. We won’t be back to this dealer or any other NR operated dealer after this unacceptable experience.
