I had called in to bring my vehicle in for the air bag recall during spring of this year. I was told that I would be receiving a call within a few weeks once the replacement airbag came in. I called back several weeks later and was told to just wait for Longo Toyota to call me when they receive the part. I called in earlier this week for a status update, and was told that I was never even on the list for the recall, and that a profile was not yet created for me. I found this unacceptable, as I was told not to have a passenger seated in the front seat until the recall was performed. It is ridiculous that I waited so long only to finally call back and be told that Longo Toyota never even had me in line for the part.
I was able to bring in my vehicle yesterday, Oct 18. My service advisor is Emily Mejia, who provided good service.
When I received my vehicle, I inspected the plastic paneling and found that they were not correctly snapped in place. I called Emily, who told me to pull back into the service advisor bay. She had a tech named Sean or John, check it out, and he was able to resolve the issue after a few minutes.
I'm satisfied that Emily was able to get a tech to fix the issue on the spot. However, I can't say I'm too confident in the quality of work of Longo Toyota technicians if they are not able to completely reassemble the vehicle as it was before doing work. If they are not able to reassemble interior paneling properly, how can I know that the airbag recall was even performed properly?
