This may take a while. Juan is a child doing an adults job. Hardin Honda has let me down greatly. I am so disappointed, and I am not likely to return for any further service or purchases from your dealership.
I took our families 2006 Honda Odyssey in for service for what I was afraid was a transmission problem late in 2021. I explained in great detail what was happening with our vehicle. The technicians misdiagnosed the problem and advised me to make several repairs. I agreed to make most of them at quite an expense to me. I felt confident that Hardin had looked after me. The van had a flat tire about 2 weeks ago. Thinking that our van had been repaired adequately, I spent another 2500 dollars on tires and fixing a problem with the axles. This past week, I again experienced the lurching and inability of the Odyssey to shift gears. I brought the van back to Hardin for evaluation. Juan called me to give me an update the day after dropping of the vehicle. Juan, tip toed around the fact that my car was in trouble. He had to inform me that the vehicle needed over 21,000 dollars in repairs, delivering the message with a laugh. This is not a funny matter to me when my family relies upon the car, and I had just invested nearly 6000 dollars total in repairs. Today, he calls me with information that he spoke with his manager that they would offer me 300 dollars for the van. This again was not a subject that he could inform me off in a serious demeanor. Telling me initially that the offer was about 300 dollars. He did not have the fortitude to tell me an exact number of 300 dollars. For crying out loud, there are 800 dollars worth of new tires and nearly 60 dollars of fuel in the tank. To add insult to injury I had to return and pay 162 dollars to get my car back from your dealership.
Juan lacks experience, maturity, and ability to handle the job that you are entrusting him do. I have never been so disappointed in the care that I received and in the person that was handling my needs. I have had some great people help through the years , including Matt Thayer, Keri, and others. Either you train him up quickly, or expect numerous other people to leave your dealership.
Today, I had the record of all the care for my 2014 Pilot printed out. I will try my luck at Buena Park Honda.
I did look at a new HRV today, as I will now need a replacement for the van for my family. David and Jimmy in sales were excellent and gave me the great service I have come to expect from Hardin. I did not purchase the HRV. I instead went to CarMax and purchased a very low mileage Subaru Crosstrek. It is the first not Honda brand I have ever purchased. Thanks in great part to my experience with Juan and the insult from your manager that offered 300 dollars for the van.
I run a very successful dental practice in Fullerton. I understand things do not always work out in taking care of people. I always make sure my patients( customers) leave with a successful outcome. Once in a great while, I will need to remake or remedy a problem. Sometimes it costs me time, money, or both. However, the way I run my business, I answer all of the problems with maturity, humility, and heartfelt care, and I take care of the issue. The patient leaves happy and with a long lasting solution.
I am truly sorry Juan did not have the experience or knowledge on how to make the best of this dreadful experience I was having secondary to the original misdiagnosis from the service technicians. I am sorry that I will be moving on from Hardin Honda. You were very good for many years. You unfortunately failed me greatly in this transaction.
