You need to endorse the car to another service rep if you won’t be in the following day and inform the customer about it. The files should also be updated for the endorsement.
You need to be mindful of customer’s time. If the car is ready then paperworj has ti be ready and filed properly for a timely release. And rather than sit around, you cashiers need to be proactive and call or physically look for the service rep to get the necessary paperwork (that you misfiled the day before) to get the release going.

I’m not too sastisfy of my service advisor, Christopher Abernathy, his service is not great, he didn’t call me to pick up my truck when is done, and when I have to pick up my truck the next day. When I was there, he didn’t advise me what to do and didn’t explain my truck’s status, what I need for the next service or what it had been done to my truck, no thank you or walk me to my truck just left all by myself!
