I understand that the fuel pump had a recall on it and either the fuel pump or parts needed to be replaced what I didn’t expect is to have an overwhelming smell of gas, lingering in the car hours later.
Is this normal when a fuel pump is replaced? Should I expect to smell to go away at some point?

I was surprised when I picked up the car to find out that there was a suggested service of brake fluid levels due at a cost of about $250. I brought the car to have it serviced for my elderly mother while I was here on the holiday. Thankfully, she doesn’t drive the car every day so it isn’t an urgent need. I was just surprised that no one notified me.
