I feel like the heat shield could have been clipped on or otherwise repaired instead of complete replacement. Hindsight I should have thought of asking this but I just wanted to get on with the day. I feel like I got taken advantage of after speaking with a friend about the repair.

Basically gave the guys carte blanche to do whatever to my old 4Runner. I supplied parts for a job I knew I wanted to happen and asked them to find anything else that needed attention. The did the job I asked and found no other faults. Could have easily up charged me for additional services but instead did the right thing and gave an honest assessment. I’ll be coming back and will probably be buying a new 4Runner when my ol’ girl dies. I know where I’ll be going.

I brought our recently certified use Highlander in to have the HomeLink evaluated because I had been unable to program it to our overhead door opener, while my 2 other Toyotas easily paired to the overhead unit. When I explained that to Jesse, I was disappointed in both his body language and vocal response, because they gave me the impression that nothing positive was going to come from this service visit. As expected, nothing positive came from this visit. I was told that the HomelLink system was working fine, that it was sending a signal as designed. No other comments as to what I might do next to trouble shoot my problems, just a comment for the service advisor who checked me ought, that he had had a similar problem with his vehicle and that it took him quite awhile to solve his issue, but no advice or what he had done to get his problem solve. I ultimately decided to purchase a new overhead door opener, since my unit was over 23 years old. That DID solve my problem. But I had to figure it all out on my own and take a $750 gamble by purchasing a new opener.
