I love the car I purchased but the sales experience was sloppy and disappointing. I put a 5K down payment and filled out the initial application documents on Nov 5th. My credit was checked and my previous car inspected for the trade in. My name and address have changed since my last lease, and the sales person was advised of this on the 5th. He supposedly notated that to the correct information. We had some other commitments that day and were planning to add to the down payment, so I asked if I could return the following day to complete the purchase. MD agreed and said everything would be ready to sign and a smooth transition the following day. When we returned, nothing was ready. It seemed he had forgotten about the 5K initial down payment, and all the documents had the wrong information. Since my credit had already been checked the previous day, I locked my credit file. A female came in and started asking why my name & address didn’t match the application. I explained that I had already advised MD the previous day and was under the impression that was noted. She returned a short time later and asked if my credit was locked. I confirmed that it was and she replied “you didn’t tell me that” - well she didn’t ask! I didn’t know that there was a need to re-run my credit report and did not appreciate the multiple inquiries. I unlocked my credit so my credit could be checked again. We waited quite a while before the finance manager brought us into his office. He then attempted to talk us out of the amount of the down payment we were putting down! I don’t need anyone telling me how to spend my $$ or manage my finances. I put $20K down and that was my choice. That left a really poor taste in my mouth. He continued trying to talk us out of it and started bragging about what a good sports better he is? At this point my husband told him we wanted to sign the documents and leave. We had requested the luggage rack he removed, and when we were ready to leave, that was not done even though the request was made the previous day. Yesterday, 5 days later, I get a call from MD that I had to come back to the dealership to sign another document and get the paper I needed for registration. Another inconvenience. I have driven at least 7-8 Lexus vehicles purchased from your dealership over the past 20 years. This was overall the worst experience I have ever had there.
