I was told that my brakes didn’t pass inspection so I took my car home and replaced the pads, brought it back today and was told that my rotors didn’t pass because of surface rust. They said that if I drive my car around the rust could wear off. I can then bring the car back. From my house to Rochester Toyota I travel down route 16 for 22 miles. I’m guessing that amount of miles the surface rust didn’t wear off. All 4 rotors were in great condition and had no groves. I’ve purchased 4 Toyota Priuses and I’m mad about this, especially feel like the old saying applies about bringing your car to a dealership for maintenance. We will see what happens when I bring it back in a week for a reinspection.
