I was told that the sensor malfunction on my car did not qualify for repair under warranty because the outside of the sensor was supposedly damaged and because of this it did not qualify. If something like this fails under 36,000 miles it should be covered under warranty because of failure due to poor design. I was also initially charged something called a “repair charge fee” of $24.50. They couldn’t really explain what this was and eventually took it off. If I bring my car in and am told I’m only going to be charged the diagnostic fee and proceed to get no work done on my car there should be no additional charges. This experience has led me to question my future relationship with Toyota that has existed since 2006.
