I was impressed by the efficiency of the service department. Even though there was a lot of volume, the check-in process was very fast. I love being able to pay the service advisor directly. I was able to have all my questions answered, pay and leave in rapid succession!

The reason because I scheduled repairs appointment and i dropped the vehicle off one day prior to appointment and when I called to inquire about my repairs. The service adviser Jonah Tanz said he would called back. Never received a follow up call and I had make special trip to inquire the status of the repairs

Actually the person that helped me was Jacque. She worked her way thru a rather complex process of obtaining a pro-rated discount from a tire manufacturer based on tread wear mileage warranty. She got it done is a timely way. Well done!

I felt that Steve Smith was condescending to me because I am women. When he told me my car was ready, I asked him if they checked the relay he stated they did a full diagnostic on the car. This was good, but then I asked him if the checked the pressure and refrigerant. I also asked him if he did the recall work. Instead of answering me, he sent me this reply:
The only way you’re gonna be able to check it is evac and recharge. They use there tools to check. Also you need to make sure your RECIRCULATE button is on if not it pulls heat and smells from outside. Without that button on it’s not going to cool properly. This button needs to be on once car is cooled out. Also black interior takes at least 30 minutes to cool down and black paint heats car as well.
Yes, I already knew this stuff. I was thought this many years ago. I am not stupid, and I know how to work the AC. I also know they use tools to fix things. As you noticed, he didn’t answer my questions. So, I called my husband, and asked him to take over. My husband called Akins for Steve Smith, and he wasn’t there. Someone took a message and sent Steve an email. Steve then contacted Dave through email (I think), and he gave Dave detailed information. He also addressed the recall issue. He stated he forgot it was on the paperwork, and he would get it completed as soon as possible. My question is, “Why didn’t Steve give me the details to what was done, why didn’t he answer my questions, and why didn’t he look at the ticket when I brought up the recall?” We have bought many cars, and we have brought our cars in for service at Akins for over 25 years. Now, I am a little nervous to get MY two cars serviced there because I don’t want to be talked down to. I used to love Akins, and I always enjoyed going there to get my car service because I love the free ice cream and awesome hot chocolate, but now I am not so sure anymore.
