We had a 7 am appointment for today, May 21, but brought the car in the afternoon before for our own convenience knowing it may not be looked at until the next day. They were able to get started on Tuesday afternoon and we got the video from the technician with recommendations. We did not understand everything he was saying in the video but assumed Taylor would call us in the morning, on our scheduled appointment day. At close to 10, when we had not heard from Taylor, we called and left a message asking for him to call and update us on the recommendations. Instead of calling, we got a text message 40 minutes later with recommendations and costs. Still having questions, we called again and had to leave a message, reiterating that we wanted to talk to Taylor and not just get a text. He returned the call and we talked through all the items. We authorized two item on the list to be completed at 11:30 am. While we are not mechanics and don’t know the time it takes to complete the tasks, Google does. Our research shows it should have been 30 minutes to an hour for one and 30 minutes to up to two hours for the other, so total time one hour to three hours. So, assuming they started at 11:30, the vehicle should have been done no later than 2:30. We did not get notified that the car was done until 5:15! We know that we were not the only ones in for service, but had we had a phone call from Taylor earlier in the day, and without us having to initiate the communication, your service technician would have had the opportunity to start his work earlier and perhaps we would have got the vehicle back closer to 3 pm, our requested completion time.
Additionally, when we were talking to Taylor about the brakes, he felt then need to “mansplain” to me what brake fluid is and does. I did not appreciate or need this!
We bought our car there and you have been our sole maintenance provider. We always appreciate the help and attention your staff provides but today the communication was subpar.
