Shane provided good communication and I appreciated him working with AHBMW to absorb the cost of tinting the back window due to convertible top replacement. However, I did not need to hear multiple times that AHBMW made some significant accommodation since BMW does not cover ‘aftermarket accessories” The facts of the matter are that it is nearly impossible to live in the desert without tinted windows. Further, an $80k BMW should not require a new convertible top less than 16 months after its original in service date. Now I am concerned that the top could fail again shortly after warranty expires.
HOWEVER, I am not happy with the fact that it took eleven days to repair my car. Further, while I initially asked AHBMW not to wash my vehicle as it is ‘frozen’ metallic paint with satin XPEL PPF covering the entire car, I did not expect to have the car to be returned dirtier than when I dropped it off. There is some black residue near the gas cap door for which I can only hope will wash off without damaging the PPF. There are also finger prints all over windows and dirt spots on interior leather surfaces.
The majority of my frustration is direct at BMW and not so much AHBMW.
