I bought my Ford Edge brand new in 2012. My car was serviced by Norm Reeves Ford in Cerritos exclusively for the past 12 years. About two years ago the hazard light button stop working. We complained to the service department at Norm Reeves about it being a safety issue, but they claimed they could not fix it. One year ago, the check engine light and other indicators came on and wouldn’t go off. At that time we were told it was a motherboard problem and that they (service department )would order a part needed to fix it. After months of waiting for the part, our hazard lights turn on and would not turn off . We reached out to the service department to check the status of the part and they told us it had been sent back to Corporate, but they would re-order the part. The new part arrived in August, so we brought the car in for servicing and was later told that it was the wrong part as it wouldn’t fit. NOTE: the part is Vin number specific so we couldn’t understand how they ordered the wrong part. It is also important to note that our display console was cracked by the service tech in the process. Tony Ybara told us that the cracked console would be replaced when the new part arrives. Still upset about the wrong part being ordered we asked to speak to the service manager. His (service manager) response to our complaint about the wrong part being ordered (although VIN Specific), and the cracked console was dismissive. The service manager had the audacity to say the console was crack before we bought the car in. Tony Ybara was aware that it was not crack when we brought the car in for servicing but did not speak up. They also couldn’t explain how the wrong part was ordered when it’s Vin number specific. Tony did say that they would order the correct part. After a few weeks, in September 2023, we were told that the part was discontinued and the motherboard could not be fixed. At that time, according to the service department,there were no other issues with the car even though the check engine and other indicators were on. The hazard lights continued to blinked for many months. I had to unhook my battery each time I reached my destination in order to keep the battery from dying. After several months the hazard lights stop blinking.Last week the coolant indicator turned on then off then on again. My car felt like it was having trouble driving forward and started to shake.. Now the service department tells me that there’s a problem with the water pump and that it would cost $3,500 to fix this problem and other issues required attention that would cost an additional $7,000. Nearly $10K worth of work. Even if we got them fixed with the check engine light and other indicators not working the car cannot pass smog and would still be unreliable. Our efforts to get assistance from the service department (Tony) turned out to be in vain. I can no longer drive my car. As a result, my husband and I who were Ford lifetime car drivers will never purchase another Ford car EVER again. I was heartbroken to learn that the car that I’ve cared for very carefully could not be fixed by Ford service department because parts are not that’s all available. Now major problems have developed and the price to fix my car exceeds what the car is worth. I am completely dissatisfied with the service and I will be sending a formal complaint to Ford’s corporate office. If I had to rate my experience, I would give it a F- (epic fail).
