I left the service shop with the understanding that my Tacoma's 10,000 mile service was covered under the Toyota Care Program. The vehicle had just under 9,700 miles on it. I came home and proceeded to get to work on chores. I received a voice message that said my vehicle was not covered under the Care program as it was over two years old. The message said I owed $69 and change. I called back and was asked to return and settle the bill. I said I would at my convience. Later in the afternoon I returned to pay the bill. As the service agent was redoing the bill, I asked if he was considering my VIP program. He said no, but he would check. He then said that the bill would now be $50 with the VIP discount. Had I not asked I would not have received the VIP discount. I wonder, if it was discovered that I over paid if I would have received a call? My guess is NO.
I have purchased two FJs, a Tacoma, two Avalons, and a Crown from this dealership. I have been very pleased with sales. Sean and David are very good to work with. Generally service has been good to very good. The parts department has assisted with aftermarket support and has done an excellent job.
I understand that the truck did not qualify for the 10,000 mile service. Just an error.
