I went to diagnose a squealing sound coming from the transmission. I showed the service advisor a recording of the sound. This sound only started happening on my car about one to two months ago. After the diagnosis, the mechanic who diagnosed my car was adamant that the sound was normal, even though it clearly wasn’t. Granted, they weren’t able to reproduce the sound, and the sound only happens in certain situations. But I would’ve hoped they would know that the sound isn’t normal.
