The service advisor said he thought the issue was a wheel bearing. The diagnosis was then a transmission problem and the recommendation was a new transmission at $5000.00 or buy a new car. Shocked, as I had a used or re-built one installed several years ago, I inquired about a used one...$3000.00. The Service Manager,Cole Anderson, got involved and lucky for me he did, and then determined that it was the wheel bearing after all. $865.00 is a big drop. Upon checking out, the service advisor said, ‘Remember I thought it was the wheel bearing?’ He should have gone out and examined the car and talked to the technician before making such a costly recommendation. An emotional roller coaster ride for me and a weak apology given. I expect more from the Corolla and the Dealer!
