I requested to have a key FOB programmed and volume knob be installed to my vehicle (it had been broken & missing prior to my visit). When I made the appointment for service I spoke to the parts department to order the volume knob so that when I brought the vehicle to its regular maintenance (04/13) it could be done on the same day. The parts department later that day (04/13) (after I dropped off my vehicle) called me to inform me the volume knob is there. I mentioned to him my vehicle was already there and had communicated to my service advisor Paul K. & Steve (partner) to have that installed. Then I received a call from Steve informing me about additional things the vehicle needed. I declined 2 of the 3 things he suggested to be done. After a while I received the call my vehicle was ready to be picked up. When I arrived Steve said the volume knob could not be installed with the condition the media center is in and if I wanted to get it installed it would be an extra $1,000. The key FOB was not programmed or installed. Paul was there and we figured it to be a miscommunication between him and I. I said key FOB, and he heard extra KEY. At arrival I did receive the extra key, although that is not what I asked for. Since what I asked for hadn’t been done, they said it would be another hour and 1/2 before my vehicle would be ready. The FOB was programmed and installed but the passenger door doesn’t lock or unlock. It has to be manually unlocked/locked. Where I’m unsatisfied is the lack of communication about the volume knob. I was charged for a part (volume knob) I have no use for. I would’ve really appreciated some communication about the knob not being able to be install unless the price of the service today being increased. However with the key FOB, it seems like it was done in a hurry to get the customer out of there and onto the next.

It seems that all Toyota’s get an oil change every 10 thousand miles. My car is a Yaris, it’s oil has to be changed every 75000 miles. Every time I go for service I have to remind the counter person of this important fact because they don’t always plan to do an oil change ever time I take my Yaris for service

Chris was great and very helpful throughout the experience. However this is my 3rd or 4th instance where the service department at Roseville Toyota has incorrectly fixed my truck, causing issues and requiring me to take it back. This was the most severe out of all cases as it broke down on the road while driving. I’m not sure why they mess up every time but from now on I will be taking my truck to Auburn Toyota for future maintenance and fixes that don’t relate back to Roseville Toyota.
