There were a couple of things that might have made me completely satisfied:
- front desk clerk forgot to have me sign the rental car contract so had to navigate a confusing document to sign through an app and be rushed to do it quickly. The app for prepaying was also confusing.
- The detailed list of items to be completed for the 60K service was not attached as indicated in the cover document. I had to request that I be shown the list which didn’t include itemized pricing. I felt like he didn’t want me to see what little was being done on the car.
- When I reviewed the list I asked Mario if it was only an oil change, cabin filter and oil filter, and brake fluid/cleaning for $751. He said he could give me 15% off. He said changing the brake fluid was $250. I said Firestone charges $130 to do that. Serramonte Lexus charges $646 for the full $60K service including rotating the tires. I’m not sure why Putnam charges over $100 more for less service.
- when I was there in June Mario said I needed new brakes and gave me the measurements. He said it would be $900+ to change them. I went to Les Schwab to replace the brakes for $550. They said I did not need brakes at that time and that I had a lot longer before I needed to replace them. Their measurements were quite different from the ones Mario had provided.
I feel like I haven’t been given the full honest information and that I may be taken advantage of with recommendations of expensive brake service I didn’t need at that time. I know Lexus are probably more expensive to maintain but some of these inspections seem like ways to lump in things to make a glorified oil change cost close to $750.

Alma was wonderful! She kept me informed about my windshield part. She talked me through my options as the part will evidently not arrive until 12/23. She offered me another loaner if my single windshield wiper does not function well enough during our upcoming rain for the following week. I'm quite pleased with her!!!!
