More time could be taken to discuss repairs. For example, if a filter is dirty how dirty is it? I would like to make an educated decision and not feel like I’m being marketed to. This is not one service advisor, but what I’ve experienced with several at this site. Today, I was encouraged to replace two filters today and declined on both in part because a detailed discussion was not held. The mechanic noted that one filter could wait and the other was in higher need, but I was not given this paperwork until the end. In a traditional shop, I’d ask them to show me the filter. My advise is to print out the service report with mechanic notes for customer review (at the very least) instead of pushing advisors to sell repairs. It betrays customer trust and they may just look for local and small business auto shops with good reputations.
