Lexus Recalls Over 115,000 Vehicles In The U.S. Amid Concerns Of Fuel Leakage

Lexus Recalls Over 115,000 Vehicles In The U.S. Amid Concerns Of Fuel Leakage

In one of their largest recalls to date, Lexus has issued notices to over 115,000 customers. The affected cars include all 2006 to 2013 IS 350 models, 2007 to 2011 GS 350 models, 2010 to 2014 IS 350C model convertibles, and all GS 450H model sedans. Globally the number of recalls issued reaches nearly 121,000. Recall notices should begin arriving in August.

All of the affected vehicles contain the same 3.5 liter V6 engine. The specific flaw has been identified in the diaphragm material in the fuel pulsation dampeners. The material has a tendency to harden over time, which may lead to cracking and leakage. This may in turn lead to a risk of fire.

Thankfully Toyota has not identified any instances where this as occurred and as of this date no injuries or fires have been linked to the faulty materials.

As suggested by our partners at Landers Toyota Auto Repair Service, a trusted dealership service center in Little Rock, AR, it is important to act quickly with any recall notice.

This is especially true of ones involving fuel delivery.

If you receive one of these notices, immediately make an appointment at your dealership's service department.
