I’ve had a terrible experience with SF Honda the last few weeks. They messed up on my oil change last year so I brought my car in last month after it gave me a low oil alert. The manager agreed to do a free diagnostic given my issues last year. The diagnostic showed nothing wrong even though the check oil light kept coming on. They told us that we should consider replacing our oil filter so we spent $100 on that the following week. The light still kept coming on. My husband brought the car in two days ago and they did another diagnostic and they finally told us that the engine was damaged due to the bad oil change and leak from last year. They agreed to replace the engine but I don’t understand why this took three service attempts? I am also concerned that they didn’t take my inquiry seriously as a woman? My husband and i have now spent $60 on Uber fares back and forth, $100 on the new oil filter, and a huge depreciation hit on the value of the car once the new engine shows up on car fax. This has really been a terrible experience so far and I just hope that the new engine installation goes well next week so that my car stops beeping and I can stop worrying about everything.
