I at no time felt like I was wanted as a customer. It's unfortunate considering I was looking for a new place to have my car serviced.
The challenge I had wasn't related to any issue with Che in regards to his warmth or customer service experience, but rather a $ quote for a drivers rear wheel bearing/hub assembly with install being >$500 when the Honda part price is $160 and the install is at most one hour as the schematic shows clearly it has 4 rotor bolts and five on the rear to mount the contained hub assembly. Despite me telling Che in two different conversations that I looked at schematic and an aftermarket part would be $85 and my best friend is a tech and could help me, the second time I questioned the quote, he said "extra cost is written into the quote as although we have very precise machine presses to get out the other set of bearings behind the hub assembly that you can't see and despite the precision of the bearing press they almost always get damaged despite best efforts...". Fast forward to 2/27/18, the bearing/ hub assembly was squealing so loudly on my wife's 545am drive down I-205 to work that she had to leave it at Mall 205 and due to only having a 10 mile tow radius for my insurance roadside hazard coverage I had to have it taken to Tonkin Gresham Honda. The next morning the new hub assembly was installed and total cost was $266.93, and that was "straight out of the service books" per Mark who assisted me there. After a $25 off "services from $250-399" online coupon I was out the door for less than $242, half of what was quoted me twice. We've been Loyalty Rewards Plus members since we bought our 2013 Accord Sport but I can't afford to pay twice the cost for a seemingly simple repair and get the feeling that I'm being misquoted and my schematic research and consult with my certified tech buddy isn't listened to.
