I’m pleased with the tire rotation, the filter exchange, and blower motor clean out. I’m very disappointed in the investigation into the malfunctioning rain sensor. The report and video explained the unit itself had a crack and that the adhesive may have been reused contributing to the issues. Upon further personal investigation with the unit, I found it was evident the unit was not cracked but scratched on the exterior, it was difficult to recognize the scratch as such without removing the unit from the windshield which made it obvious that did not happen during the diagnostic exam. Additionally the unit was missing the gel pad/sensor tape, and had significant scratches on the reflective surface. The last two issues are significantly more likely to be the contributors. The recommendation was to replace the unit itself which would’ve been reasonable if the unit wasn’t missing a key component (sensor tape). The tape should’ve been the first suggestion at around $3 for a replacement piece of tape it seems far more reasonable to start there and escalate up the chain as needed. While I sincerely appreciate that time expertise goes into diagnostics, justifying the steep price of $160, I feel as if the investigation should have been significantly more thorough and at minimum open the unit to check connections and check to ensure all components are there and intact.
