Recently more information has come forth regarding the current iteration of the project from various sources at Apple. At the helm of this new project is Bob Mansfield, under whom Apple has begun building an autonomous driving system instead of an autonomous vehicle. By creating an autonomous driving system, Apple will be able to partner with existing car manufacturers to integrate Apple's system and software into vehicles at the factory, or at dealership service centers such as International KIA Of Orland Auto Repair Service in the city of Orland Hills, IL. As an added benefit, the end product is projected to be able to deeply integrate with iOS devices as well.
