My car has been making a noise since October-November. I called service and a service tech said most likely it was probably just low on oil. So I took my car in elsewhere to have the oil checked for leaks and changed twice. My car still made the noise.
In December I called service back to bring my car in to fix the noise. I also emailed a video of my car making the noise. They said they found that the spark plug for cylinder 3 had oil all over it, and they found that the gasket around the cylinder was leaking oil. They replaced the valve cover gaskets, which cost $549.10. My car still made the noise.
On January 7th, I text and called service back and told them my car was still making the noise, and my service advisor said she would call me back. I didn’t hear from her. Over the next 3 weeks I tried calling multiple times but was always told she was either in a meeting, with a customer or not there. I left multiple messages. One time they even put me on hold for 9 minutes and kept picking up the phone and putting me back on hold, only to eventually hang up on me.
Meanwhile my car is getting worse.
I got frustrated last Friday (Jan. 27th) and called the Service Manager. I was told he was in a meeting and would call me back. Never heard from him - ever.
Finally after leaving messages for 21 days, last Saturday the 28th I got my advisor on the phone and explained that I was frustrated and just wanted my car fixed. She asked me to drop my car off on Tuesday the 3rd, which I did.
This time they said it was the timing chain tensioner. I was told my car would be ready by Monday the 9th.
That Tuesday morning when I hadn’t heard from anyone, I called at 11:30am and was told my car would be ready by Wednesday afternoon. By 3:00pm on Wednesday, I hadn’t heard from anyone so I called to find out the status of my car and was told it would probably be ready by 5pm. I asked what the total was and I was put on hold for 18 minutes before being told my advisor would call me right back. I never got a call back, so I just got a ride to the dealership at 5 to get my car.
I paid $1327.45 on top of the $355.04 in parts I already purchased.
My car still makes the noise. I messaged my advisor this morning at 9am and still haven’t heard back.
