I committed to a $155 diagnostic fee to have my non-functioning steering wheel stereo controls checked out. The airbag assembly on the steering wheel needed to be removed to fully diagnose the problem, which ended up being a bad clockspring. I was then quoted $200 for the part and $350 in labor to replace the part, and that the $155 would be applied to the $350. I don't under stand how $350 in labor was justified. Once the airbag assembly was removed, it was literally one more bolt to remove the steering wheel and replace the clockspring. I refused the repair, paid the $155, went to your parts dept and purchased the clockspring myself and replaced in about 30 minutes total... including removing the airbag assembly that they removed and reinstalled. I am completely appalled at the amount of labor I was going to be charged when they had done 90% of the work already to diagnose the problem. You have a major disconnect in your service department and I am questioning ever returning to your dealer to have work done on our TWO Hyundais. I am very disappointed. Also, the service advisor, Hans Rico, turned extremely cold when I began questioning why the labor would be so much if they had already done 90% of the work.
I felt comfortable and not overwhelmed. It was my fist time and I was nerves. I liked that Hans Rico made it simple and answers all the questions I had.
We brought our Sonata in with the assumption that the starter had broken. Cheyne took the car and said he would verify our assumption the next day. He did that and told us the item had to be ordered and the work would likely be finished the next Tuesday. He also indicated the work would likely be covered by our extended warranty. Cheyne called that Tuesday to say the repair was finished and that, in fact, it was completely covered. We are completely satisfied with the work that was done and the excellent customer service we received.

My oil change and service was completed in the time promised. During my lease with the Ford motor corporation every time I got an oil change and service they washed my car I thought Hyundai would do the same I guess I assumed wrong.
Gary was very pleasant and attentive. He had a very friendly, professional and patient demeanor and attitude. One of the best service reps I have encountered when going to Hyundai for service. Kudos to him for a job well done.
