I was randomly assigned this service manager when I contacted Toyota regarding a possible recall on a used Tacoma I recently purchased. I traded in a 2006 tacoma that I bought brand new years ago and there was a recall on that year so I called to inquire about a possible similar recall on the frame on my new 2012. When he first looked into it on the phone call he was not sure if they would take care of that if this dealership, so he told me he would return a call after looking through the recall. After a few hours he called back and said that I needed to bring it in so they could look it over and see if this is something they could take care of. I scheduled an appointment and brought my vehicle in in the middle of a weekday and left it for over an hour. When I was contacted to come pick up my vehicle I was told that, not only could the dealership not handle this recall, but that the technicians at this particular dealership are not even qualified to determine if a recall action is necessary. I was told to contact a dealership over an hour away. I am frustrated that this communication could not have taken place over the phone and I am wondering why I need to bring my vehicle in when there was absolutely nothing to technician here to do about it. It was inconvenient and a waste of time, and the service manager should have known better.
