I have had two service appointments with Dave over the past two years. Both have been terrific experiences. I plan to keep my Tacoma for the foreseeable future, but knowing and trusting the Newark Toyota service group makes it likely that my next vehicle will be another Toyota.

When I called to make an appointment, the internet was down and the service employee said she would call me back but never did. I called again to schedule the 100,000 mile appointment and that person did not know what it entailed for my vehicle. She did ask but did not give me accurate information. When I arrived, they were items not mentioned in the phone call. I did not feel prepared to make those decisions on the spot. I waited almost 2 hours. The customer service agent today was friendly today however which helped my experience a little.

The service writer did not seem friendly. Seemed like she just did what she needed to do, I had her once before. Not much different this time. I prefer a different writer. If you want to contact me for more input I would be happy to say more.

I took my car in for 25'000 mile service, to check on a leaky tire, and about an issue with the wifi. I told him the wifi issue was the least of my concern and could be dealt with another time. After two hours past my appointment, I told him. Not to worry about the WiFi at all since everything else took so long. He said they were just starting to look at the wifi. I told him I'd rather get out of here. 10 minutes later, he comes to me with a report about my tire and I decided to get all season tires since one was not repairable. After an hour I was told the vehicle was done. Two days later on my way to NY where I would be living (a 2.5 hr drive from any toyota service center) I noticed the service sticker hadn't been updated. Another 100 miles down and the vehicle reminder came on saying it needed service soon. It was at this time it was clear the 25'000 miles service hadn't been completed despite sitting in the service center for two hours. I called the service desk and asked for Brian who was busy. I left a message with the service desk for him about my concerns and wanting to know what happened (mistakes happen). 3 days later now, I had to drive 5 hrs round trip to the nearest toyota service center to complete the service that was supposed to be done (which that service center completed in 20 minutes!), And I still have not heard back from Brian. I have bought two vehicles from Newark Toyota, and between the military, going to school, and travelling the country fighting wildfire, I have always had my vehicles serviced at the Newark Toyota service center whenever I could. I am extremely disheartened with the service I received and honestly feel like I was fed lip service and horse crap. This experience was so far from the standard of service I have come to appreciate and expect. This was quite the contrary. Not even enough respect for a returned phone call, and a service failure that resulted in a 5 hour drive to do what could have easily been done in 20 minutes.
