Asked for an oil change. Also diagnose the check engine light. Paul calls me and says I need a new radiator. 815 dollars out the door . I said I would wait on that and to just do the oil. Thursday he said it would be complete and I could pick it up at the end of the day. I said Friday would work better, he said fine. Friday I show up at 11 am. He says, it’s done . The gentleman comes up to me with my keys and asks if they look familiar. I said yes and asks if I want a car wash. Paul asked me when I dropped it off and I said yes. So I say I will wait. He brings it around and when I get in the cab it has a piece of printer paper over the gauges that says “ NO COOLANT “. I think, ok well they must have put more or enough for me to get home. Well, I hit the highway and my temperature gauge pins, spikes. Over the read out hot. I pull over immediately. Open the hood and notice the service tech did not reinstall the hose and clamp to the upper radiator ****. Completely disconnected. I have to reinstall the hose and clamp myself, but can’t fill it because it’s ripping hot . I have to wait for my wife, and 4 kids, to come bring me a gallon of coolant. All the wile , I’m calling Kirby Subaru. After leaving 2-3 messages for Paul. On the 4th try I get a very helpful operator and says she will deliver the message to Paul to call back. Well she did, and he called maybe 2 minutes later. I explained what happened to Paul and he had no recourse. No , here’s what we’ll do. He said he would talk to the mechanic. Well Paul that’s just not good enough. Yelp and google are next.

We had an appointment for 9:30 in the morning we brought our car in and was promised to have it in 4 to 6 hours. Somewhere in the middle of the day we got a text that said relax they’re working on our car. Finally in the afternoon we drove over to see what was happening and there was a car torn apart. Sorry, and then he went on to tell us about all the problems that were going on… Short staffed and they would have to have it done by 6 o’clock. We told them we pick it up in the morning what time should we come. Next morning no call past 930 10 o’clock we finally called to find out what was going on. We’re told they’re just waiting for the paperwork. Should we drive over then? Paul: no wait until I get the paperwork and I will call you. Finally our car is ready at about 1030 on my day off when we were planning to get away for the day. Where is the trailer hitch? No one bothered to show us where it was we had to ask. Hidden under the rear bumper access panel. Got a pathetic Sorry from Paul… Hear that in most businesses these days. Sorry doesn’t cut it when you’re paying over $600. My time is as important as your time and nobody likes getting jerked around. So far from what I’ve seen at Kirby the only good thing at that facility is Robert

Rich Artelle is very knowledgeable about the engineering of my Subaru. He was kind enough to share some of that knowledge with me. And he was super pleasant and friendly even though I kind of barged in on him with some questions. Dennis was great helping me out with my service yesterday. He even went looking for me at the store when I have forgotten to turn my ringer on on my phone. I didn’t catch her name but your cashier is a wonderful person. She even makes paying for stuff a pleasant experience
