The service representative was great, but the mechanic took three times to inspect and likely $1600 of unneeded repairs before figuring out that it was just a relay causing the AC not to work.
I have no way of proving that the condenser wasn’t a problem. But I can prove that the A/C interface didn’t need to be replace and I could have been out another $1000 if I didn’t replace it myself. A bad relay is a common and easy diagnosis and should have been caught the first time in and definitely the second.
