1 would of expected masks and gloves with the interaction of service staff meeting and greeting at vehicle while climbing in it especially in these times.
2 Interaction with service writer was good but I would of spent a lot more money if a loaner was available. I live in Bear Valley and the diagnosis included another days of work. Always Have been provided a loaner for my wife’s Mercedes and they do all the work.Jim Burke missed out on approximately an additional $750.00 for a $30-50 dollar loaner.
3 Asked to buy an additional Fob for approximately $350 and when I questioned The cost it was stated it included $70.00 for the key which I already have from the one I machine washed. There is a little more to this, my truck was side swiped a few months back and repaired there where it was stated if I bought the Fob they would program for free. ( my issue for not taking him up on that then but was told replacing the battery should fix it but didn’t)
4 Understanding service and sales; and just a suggestion - if you would work with a customer on pricing discounts - your work will double. Must give the consumer the feeling you are watching the little things of cost for them; earning their trust, Give a little to get a lot back. Once you get that bond, price does not become an issue because You earned trust. (IE - took wife’s vehicle in for service and they spotted a loose wire on the underside. Mercedes wants to solder/seal connection versus a **** connector. They could if charged me 30 minutes plus parts, waived maybe because I had $1400+ in service being performed. Point making that they were not nickel and dime me to death.
