We’ve had to bring our car in for service three times now, all for the “check system” light. The past two times, RIck has been our service adviser. The first time he was there that first day but went on vacation the week after so Derek covered for him and did a good job staying in contact with us. We paid over $1000 to have a top engine clean. This was at the beginning of the quarantine period, in mid March. Since then we haven’t driven the car very much due to the quarantine. Unfortunately the “check system” light and other flashing symbol started up again last week (mid April) so we brought the car in this past Saturday morning around 10:15 and didn’t hear from Rick until we had to call him in the late afternoon. I was hoping the car would be ready for pick up on Sunday but he told me Lexus no longer is open on Sunday and that the issue they suspected would take a few hours and they would do it on Monday and he would let us know for sure at that point. We didn’t hear from him at all on Monday. I called Tuesday morning and he said it was likely a dirty butterfly valve, potentially from the engine flush before, so they cleaned it and the car was ready to be picked up. I asked if he would drop off the car at my house, which he did. Unfortunately as soon as I turned the engine on, the “check system” light came on again. I called Rick, and he said to drive it 3 times this week to see if the light would reset. If that didn’t work, he said that it could be a few factors that he listed on my invoice would would cost an additional $1125. I have driven it 4 times so far and it is still the same. This is the first time I have ever had a service adviser who did not call me to let me know what was going on. I’ve had to call Rick. Additionally, and more dissatisfying, is that Tustin Lexus has not been able to address the problem with the car and the light keeps coming on. We have already spent a lot of money trying to fix what they surmised was the issue, but apparently it seems like it has been misdiagnosed, and we are being asked to tank in even more money to fix something that likely was caused by the initial cleaning which we paid for, and they are not even sure it is truly the Issue at hand. It is clear that the $1000+ that we paid didn’t do anything because the light keeps coming on. Can you help us resolve this issue without us having to pay more than we already have?!
