I dropped off my vehicle to diagnose and possibly repair a leak in my ac system. I was told he expected it to take an hour to an hour and a half. He quoted me a $75 starting price. With the way he framed it I wrongly assumed the hourly labor fee was $75 (that is my bad I shouldnt have assumed). When I was given a call that my vehicle was ready to pick up he said they found no dye anywhere. The only reason I took it in was because a week ago I found dye along the top of the compressor and don't have the space or tools to replace it. It rained and washed the dye off it happens I was fine with that. But then he told me that my final price was $98. He said that the $75 was the half hour labor fee and they had someone diagnosing my car for an hour but that he "had planned on giving me a discount anyway" so he only charged me $85. There is zero reason that checking for dye and not finding any should take a whole frickin hour. When I asked him why it took so long he told me it was because they were "very thorough" and when they found no dye along the top they checked the pressure even though I told him it was blowing warm and there was no freon left when I dropped it off and then racked the car to look underneath. Even with checking the pressure and racking the car it should have taken MAX maybe 15 minutes. I payed them $98 to do basically nothing. That's absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Complete rip off.
