I brought my 2016 Tundra in for an inspection of the trailer brake controller unit. As I stated, the unit was not activating the brakes on my Forest River Evo travel trailer. Glendora Toyota did update the software, however the integrated Toyota brake controller still does not engage the trailer brakes. I drove the truck and trailer around town, including some steep streets while riding the brakes to control my speed. At the bottom of the hill, the trailer brake drums were still cold to the touch. These results are consistent with problems experienced by other Tundra owners. I love this truck, but this issue disappoints my high expectations of Toyota products. I have purchased an aftermarket brake controller at a cost of $196 and will install to solve the issues caused by the inadequate Toyota part. I hope Toyota solves this serious safety issue before an integrated trailer brake controller fails to provide balanced truck-trailer braking and eventually overheated truck brakes cause an accident. 1) My 2015 Toyota Corolla was due for the last time 5Km (2yr or 25km) free maintenance services prior to Sept 26, 2017. No reminder was sent to me. I called Service department and was asked to talk to Joseph, who promised me that this last time service would be still free of charge. But when I arrived, he told me sorry that I had to pay $29. I tried negotiate with him and the Manager without success. I felt that I was cheated. But I decided to finish this round of service, since I would not waste my gas. 2) When I checked in, I told Joseph that I heard noises underneath my car, and asked a mechanical check. But when I checked out, I was told nothing was wrong. I highly suspected whether a mechanical check had actually been conducted ad promised.

It was a little tough at first trying to order the tire. The technicians were a little dis-organized. I am a Toyota employee. They did not know where the order was and they kept asking me who ordered the tire. After all this confusion, one service technician jumped in and went the extra mile to find the tire, gave my husband transportation to and from home. Everything ended on s good note and we were satisfied.
