Poorest service experience I’ve had in the 6-7 years that I’ve been coming to Markquart Toyota and/or with any Toyota dealership I’ve dealt with in the last 15+ years. There were several miscommunications with the service consultant during the initial service schedule and drop off. I needed diagnostics on several warning lights and I had asked if they could look at a back seat door handle. The inspection confirmed the error (coolant/heater sensor) and there wasn’t an issue with the door handle - just a safety lockout. The inspection notes strived to authorize an additional 2K in services including new tires. I had just bought about a year ago from Markquart… I had recently just completed coolant and transmission flushes as well, not that my consultant had exhibited any familiarity with the vehicle service history. I also felt it was subpar service when I was told my car was ineligible for a complimentary wash, which is really part of the service being paid for, because of a little chipping by a wheel well. I suppose it makes sense why they stopped washing or found excuses not to the last handful of services now. At the vehicle pick up point, I waited for over 45 minutes for my consultant. There were several other consultants that could’ve helped with a check out but didn’t. I then saw the separate billing for the handle that required no work and probably took a minute to look at. The consultant did finally waive that additional fee after much objection. While the shuttle was fine, and most of the service has been fair to date, this one has left me very displeased with this dealership all around. I am strongly considering not coming back to Markquart for service and when it does come time to replace my Camry, I will likely do so from one of the dealerships in the Minneapolis/St Paul, La Crosse, or go back to Plover.
