First of all, I am a Christian person and have been trying to get my thoughts together enough without being upset to explain to you my experience with your dealership. After leaving Frank Leta Buick on Friday, May 9th, I lost sleep for a couple of nights because I was so upset with my experience. I have my information together and have calmed down a bit so here it is.
I made an appointment for Friday, 5/9/25 @ 10:30 AM to get my air conditioning diagnosed on my 2012 GMC Acadia. When I arrived, I explained the air conditioner was blowing cold air on the driver's side and hot air on the passenger side then also mentioned my right front window not rolling down (which I think is possibly the motor) however Tobias said they would also check that. I dropped my car off around 10:15 AM and Tobias said they would call after they diagnosed to let me know what they found.
At 2:22 PM, I had not heard anything so I called and spoke to Tobias. He stated the technician had another job to finish before he started on my car so they were not finished. He stated they had found one actuator was sticking and they needed another hour to finish with my car. I asked if they knew if I needed any parts replaced yet and he said not until they finished diagnosing and that they were seeing about the sticking actuator which led me to believe that they might be able to the actuator without replacing parts, so I said yes to the extra hour. He told me it would be $300 and something for the extra hour and I said if that would mean you can fix my air conditioner then that’s OK. He further stated that they had to bleed the air conditioner, and that would not cost me extra. At that point I thought my air conditioner might be fixed with paying a little over $300 if it was just a stuck actuator.
Tobias called me back at 4:06 PM stating they were finished and he would explain everything to me when I arrived to pick up my vehicle. I told him I would be there within a half hour.
When my husband, Paul and I arrived, Tobias started explaining everything they found on the diagnosis. He basically stated that I would need the following:
Evac and recharge $232.39
2.3 lbs of R-134 $231.07
Aux blower motor $372.65
Rear evaporator replacement ……………. $960.51
Rear wiper replacement …………. $30.78
Front and rear brake pad and rotor replacement ……………………….. $1,441.52

When Tobias showed me the breakdown of charges, I was totally flabbergasted!! I did not ask them to check my rear wiper NOR my brakes, brake pads & rotors!! I made this appointment for my air conditioner to be diagnosed and my right passenger window motor……..PERIOD!! NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT CHECKING MORE!! No wonder I had to pay for two hours of diagnostics which was a total of $338. This was just not right! I should have been informed before they checked anything other than my air conditioner and my window. And by the way, when I asked them about my window (because that was not in the diagnosis breakdown), I was told they didn’t have time to check it and that they would check it when I brought it back in for them to work on my vehicle.
That was not right either considering how much I paid for the diagnosis of my vehicle and that I may not be bringing it back.
My husband and I asked how much it would be just for the air conditioner to be worked on. Tobias stated for the AC components only it would be $3,441.13. We left with my vehicle, not knowing whether we were going to get it worked on or just get a new vehicle. We were both very upset and we needed to discuss it. We haven’t done a deep dive into bluebook prices of what my vehicle is worth but on a 2012 Acadia Denali, just looking quickly, it was showing it worth between $6,000 - $10,000 so paying $3441.13 is worth about half of what my vehicle would possibly bring. This is probably not worth fixing for that price. Furthermore, when leaving Frank Leta Buick that day, I started driving my vehicle and had no cold air on the driver’s side, which I did before. I think when they said they had to bleed my air conditioner, they did not refill it so now my left side only blows like a fan (not hot air), just like a regular fan but no cold air because they bled my air conditioner. The right side still blows hot air. This is also not right!! If I indeed am going to get a new vehicle, I don’t want to be in a rush and I wouldn’t need to be if I had my cold air on the driver’s side like I did before!! The right thing for Frank Leta Buick to do would be to refill it at NO CHARGE so my cold air is still on my driver’s side like before!!
I would love for someone to call me back at ****-****-xxxx to let me know that I can bring my vehicle back for them to refill it and honestly, I should be reimbursed for the second hour of diagnostics they charged since they checked things on my car without my permission.
Last of all (but not least), I have a temporary HANDICAP Placard that I have to put on my rearview mirror when I park in a handicap parking space. When I opened my glove compartment (which is where I keep it when I’m not parked so it doesn’t get bent), my handicap placard was in my glove compartment but completely crumpled up and torn, and the hanger part was twisted…NOT GOOD! This is actually unacceptable! This is gotten at the license bureau with an order from a physician!! How could they NOT SEE WHAT IT WAS!! I had to try to straighten it out it as much as possible to hang it.
The bottom line is that my experience with Frank Leta Buick on Friday, May 9, 2025 was not very good! If they had just diagnosed my air conditioner, put refrigerant back in, checked my window, and given me a quote, we could have just made a decision whether to get it fixed or not. I would not be happy with the price however, I would have felt we were serviced as requested.
I'm sorry this is so long but I feel you needed to have all the facts and also know how frustrating this was for us.

I was satisfied with the service as it was done quickly. However when I was driving home the tire monitor system went off which required another trip to the dealer. Tracy said she would get me some gas but I didn’t go in as the person that met me outside had a technician come out and use a tool to relearn the sensor. Doing the relearn through the screen in the truck didn’t fix it. It appears to be fixed as I didn’t have any problems driving back to Sikeston today
