Ty is a great person. And he does his job well. I do believe he is crippled by his manager as he is told to tell his clients no. The problem is not the no, it’s the delivery of the no, coupled with the comment “my manager says”! Customer satisfaction has everything to do with how a message is delivered. What is said is just as important on how it is said. In other words, instead of me the customer being met with “No” from the beginning which then caused so much wasted time, starting with a way to say yes allows for a no response. Listening and hearing what a customer says and allowing the customer to articulate their problems or concerns is equally as important. So, was Ty good at his job? Yes. He most def meets the job description. Did he play the part of MY service advisor? No, because I was not heard and my concerns were not addressed. Rather then being an order taker I believe being a service advisor would have a much better impact on me, the customer. After all, without customers you have no business. Without business the dealership makes no money. And that’s really what alllll of this is about.
