Dear Stellantis & Star Dodge Abilene, Texas I’ll resend pervious response with additional details. Vehicle is a 2000 yr model Dodge Ram 1500. I bought the vehicle for our daughter’s 16th birthday. On Saturday 5th Aug I took the vehicle to Johnny at Star Dodge. Service order included to change all fluids, ie coolant, oils, brake, power steering, air conditioner and etc, same mentioned all fluids. Perform a full checkup of all the vehicle systems from bumper to bumper and top to bottom. Also to fix the following; 1. Air conditioner turning off/on very regularly (+/-10 minutes) while driving. 2. Engine dying sometimes as frequently as 4 times while driving 10 miles. After dying the engine would restart after sitting for 5 to 10 minutes, like all was good. Johnny was informed that the mechanic would have to drive the vehicle to witness the issues. On Friday, 18 Aug Johnny called and informed me that all items as mentioned above had been taken care of and the vehicle was ready for me to pickup, total bill +/-$2950. I paid the bill and took delivery of vehicle. Short story the issue concerning the engine dying and air conditioner turning on/off while driving was still exactly the same, no improvement. Engine dyed 4 times in a driving distance of 10 miles. Obviously there was very limited troubleshooting performed while Star Dodge was in possession of the vehicle. On Saturday 19 Aug, I returned vehicle to Johnny for another go at repairing the issues with the air conditioner and engine. The vehicle stayed at Star Dodge until 26 Oct, while we waited for repairs to be completed. Tuesday, 24 Oct, Johnny called, said all repairs completed and vehicle was ready to pickup Thursday, 26 Oct, bill paid, +/-$3575, took delivery of vehicle. 1. Engine run as normal - did not die while driving. 2. Air Conditioner still had issues - this item outstanding since 5 Aug 3. New problem, Steering system pulling to the right hand side when driving. 4. This was not an issue when vehicle was delivered to Star Dodge on Saturday, 19 Aug. 5. This is clearly damaged that happened while in possession of Star Dodge. Friday, 27 Oct, Vehicle returned to Star Dodge for repairs; 1. Steering system 2. Air Conditioner Saturday, 28 Oct, Bill paid +/-$895 for steer system repairs. 1. Even though the damage to the steering system happened while Star Dodge was in possession of the vehicle. 2. Star Dodge refused to cover the cost of the damaged steering system. 3. Johnny, did not give any explanation of the nature of the damage to the steering system, he only told me the gear box had to be changed out. 4. Johnny, told my wife when she picked up the vehicle that the problem with the steering system was because the vehicle was old. What great technical answer. Air Conditioner system not repaired. 1. outstanding since 5 Aug. 2. No date given for when parts would arrive to complete the repairs. Saturday, 28 Oct. - Took delivery of the vehicle. Total time vehicle at Star Dodge; Days: 85 Weeks: 12 plus 1 day I’m sure the Red Dodge Ram 1500 - 2000 yr Model holds the record for longest time period at Star Dodge, Abilene, Texas I’m sure Stellantis will give Star Dodge the Dealer of the year Award for this great achievement. After all the above mentioned dramas or daughter doesn’t want to drive the vehicle because of the unreliability of the vehicle therefore the vehicle is for sale if anyone is interested.
