After a number of years using an independent car repair service, I returned to the dealership to have my car's serviced. up until now I have been so pleased with the service provided as it was reasonable and comparable to an outside service. I even told my wife that I felt after a number of years being away from a car dealership for service that it seemed that car dealerships were no longer ripping off clients. I sort of feel like a stooge on this transaction. The dealership was not busy I rolled in without an appointment and everyone was very friendly.
My $89 service turned into an $1,800 Bill based on a computer checklist that was generated. Normally you would get talk through these issues by an independent repair guy. for example the crack in your belt can probably go for another 5,000 mi and so on and so on.
This particular service did not make me feel good. I'm not a car repair person and I just felt like it was take it or leave it.
