It has always been my understanding that my vehicle oil change and tire rotation was part of the purchase and is free for the first 36,000. My most recent visit was for an oil change at 32,000 miles. The service manager tried to charge me $90 for the oil change stating that the free oil change, was only good to 28,000 miles. If it was not for the employee standing next to him explaining that the oil change is covered, but I have another free oil change pending at 38,000 miles. Also, he suggested that I have a transmission fluid change. The same employee corrected him again stating that I have a CVT do not require a transmission fluid change. The total bill I would have paid was about $174. I find this very disturbing. In the future, how can I trust this type of service!!!??

Every time I go in for an oil change, there is always something wrong with my car, what’s the deal? Very disappointed with Honda in Coon Rapids, can u please explain this? My car only has 75 thousand miles, should I trade it in for a new vehicle? So disappointed, why is it it cost over hundred dollars for an oil change? No I don’t like Honda in Coon Rapids! Diane all your staff are rude!!

Matthew was great. The service was done well. Only criticism is the high fee for the service. $118.97 is higher than the average minnesota fee for this service.

From scheduling my appointment with the recall scheduler to checking in everything was not what i expected. Even though I was scheduled with “Blong” I ended up checking in with Drew when I arrived for my appointment. I was not aware that i should drop off my car instead of “wait” at the time of scheduling. Nor was I offered a “rental” car. If I had known I would have dropped off my car instead. At check in Drew made sure i was aware that there may be a $300-$400 charge due to diagnostic tests that they may have to run incase it wasn’t the recall we were looking at. Over the phone the gal did not give me a diagnostic fee until i asked and clarified of it which was not okay at all! All customers should be aware of this! I waited a little over an hour at the service center for Drew to talk with me to let me know it was the warranty issue and that all will be covered, he sent me home with a rental and said they would work on it and call me back the next day to pick up my car. On top on the rental. I had to “pay” for gas and bring the rental back with the same amount of gas that i left it in. This is ridiculous! Next day comes around in the afternoon i receive a call from Drew letting me know that the mechanic had found more excessive damage to the clutch and coil, some other components of the a/c system, proceed to quote me around $500 for those parts, and asked if i wanted to replace those parts too since the mechanic had everything pulled apart already, that only means my car would only need to be there for another day. I told Drew i would need to speak with my husband first and will call him back. Called Drew back to not authorized the work since i felt the only reason why the clutch and coil failed with excessive damage was due to the recall off the shaft leak that needed to be replaced. This recall is seriously stupid, I called last year or the year before to schedule an appointment but cancelled the appointment because at the time the person i spoke with has told me, if they run a test and found nothing wrong with the a/c shaft then i would have to pay for a diagnostics fee. It makes no sense for me to spend 30k plus on a car and to spend more money on a recall I may or may not have. The a/c finally went out last week and i scheduled the appointment. I picked up my car yesterday, Drew was on the phone so i was not checked out by him but someone else. They handed me my paperwork, i got in my car, a/c still did not work. Drove all the way home without a/c on. Finally read the paper work to see it say “a/c not operational”. I was appalled and shocked. I did not recall Drew telling me that if I did not fix the coil and clutch my a/c would not work. Had I known this, i probably would have said yes to the service. I cannot justify paying $500 for these parts. I’ve also spoke with Inver Grove Honda Service Center, and they are not charging anywhere near that price for the clutch and coil! DO better Rapids Honda! Please forward this to HONDA! This recall need to replace the whole a/c system not just each part that keeps failing. If one part fails, the whole system fails. This is ridiculous!
