I was told that I had a significant leak in my timing cover, and was quoted $1400 to fix it. I took it to a good mechanic in the area and he was absolutely certain there was no leak. I actually pushed out my 9 hour drive down to San Diego until Monday because I thought my car was going to need the repair. It’s good that nothing was wrong with the car but what if I had agreed to “fix” it for $1400? Anyone tight on money knows that would’ve broken the bank. I don’t know if it was a mistake or dishonesty, but I’m disappointed in the service dept at Toyota in the Roseville Automall.
