They broke my air conditioner vent and told me I had to go to the Fiat Dealer to fix it. Why should I? They broke it they need to fix it. All they did was an oil change how does something like that happen

We called to bring our car in due to a part under warranty that needs to be repaires. Dropped it off on Friday and no one followed up with us. We had to call twice to get an update. On Saturday afternoon I was contacted and was told that my phone number was entered incorrectly by my tech, so that's why no one updated me. I was then told that the part that need repaired is on a 2-4 weeks backorder so it can't be fixed at this time. Why were we told to bring it in if the part wasn't available? Complete waste of time and without a car for 1 1/2 days.
