We are new to the Acura family of cars. We chose to purchase one due to other owners statements of reliability and satisfaction. After purchasing our car and driving less than 2000 miles, our car had two incidents where twice the low gas warning came on and the car completely shut off. This happened once on a side road and once on a very busy highway in Hartford, Connecticut when I called Service and stated exactly when these issues occurred, they were able to get us in for servicing faster, and also provide us with a loaner which was very satisfactory. However, upon taking our car in the service department was unable to find any errors or problems with the technology of the car. They stated that no error codes came up, and the car was good to come back to us.
My concern is that they did not drive the car to the point of getting the signal, low gas Which is when the car would’ve shut off. I understand. We left the car with a full tank of gas as we are afraid to drive around with anything less than half a tank I feel better measures could’ve been taken by the service department to reassure us that this would not happen again to our car, as we do have children who drive our car, and would not know how to handle when it shuts off nor do we want to constantly drive in fear that this will happen again.
As of now I am still not confident that this will not happen again and sadly not satisfied with a company that is known for imperative service and reliable vehicles. I would like this addressed and better remedied even if it means keeping the car and driving it until it happens again because now that it has happened twice we are certain it will happen again and at whoese dispense or what point of possible danger will it occur?
