I brought my vehicle in for and oil change and key fob battery replacement. When I was turned the vehicle back over my keys no longer worked. I took the keys back in to Ben who stated that sometimes it’s the whole system and not just the batteries, and wanted to sell me a 150 dollar diagnostic plus several hours labor and a possible part. I declined, I took the keys home and relearned them to the vehicle and they worked great. Here’s the thing EITHER Ben jumped to a diagnostic fee quickly and genuinely and not trying to sell me stuff I don’t need. Here’s my problem though, the service tech MUST HAVE had to use the “dead key” process to start the vehicle and move it from the shop floor to the outside parking space. So I’m inclined to believe there was a bit of disingenuous activity to get me roped into a minimum 150 dollar diagnostic fee for what was a 2 second fix, if not potentially more. Either way it was not a quality experience and technically not the first time something like this has occurred at this location. Additionally at least check the service records before recommending services. On my recommended service was CVT transmission flush/replace which had been done as recently as this summer, and while the miles may have indicated it from a regular maintenance perspective, service records would have shown it was not needed.
